Blur had a phenomenal run over these past 3 months, growing from zero to almost 10,000 daily active users. It's also racking up almost $100,000 per day in royalty fees paid on the marketplace. Trading volumes have grown tremendously. Will this sustain after the BLUR token airdrop occurs on 14 Feb?

We think it has a good enough product that will continue to retain users even without heavy incentives.

Doodles Acquires Golden Wolf, A Hefty Animation Studio

💲 What to know: Doodles, a 10K PFP project that raised $54M+ in funding last year, announced that it is acquiring Emmy-nominated animation studio Golden Wolf. The terms of the deal were not revealed.

Golden Wolf will continue to run independently and serve clients. Its CEO and founder will also become Doodle's Chief Content Officer.

☘️ In the weeds: Golden Wolf is a (relatively) small animation studio that punches far above its weight, with several big name collaborations:

  • Ricky & Morty

  • Levi & Minions

  • Adidas

  • Subway

Golden Wolf is a team of 31 people with 350,000+ social media followers. Their work "lives in the space between irreverent humour, intensely dynamic action and psychedelia". Seems very fitting for Web3, if you ask us.

🤑 Why it matters: Doodles's vision has always been to become a mainstream cultural and media brand that spreads joy. Something that billions of people in the world actually care about.

If you want to do that, you can't stay in your own little web3 bubble. You need to create entertaining content & IP. And Doodles is showing how they will do it:

  • Animation & storytelling (short + long-form content) -> Golden Wolf

According to Poopie (co-founder of Doodles), they will also be exploring AI animation generation R&D. That's pretty exciting and in line with the trends around how generative AI will disrupt many creative industries in the coming years.

We also like that Golden Wolf is generating real revenues with its clients, and this brings Doodles on the path towards business sustainability in the long-term.
