Hollywood meets NFTs: Lollilop

Lollipop could break new ground in media & entertainment

GM. We’re doing a happy Friday dance in our office right now.

Heads up! For the next three weeks in May, we're switching to a weekly edition instead of 3X weekly. You'll get your fix every Wednesday, but don't worry – it'll still be packed with the same top-quality NFT content you love.

Today we cover:

  • Tensor surpasses Magic Eden to be #1

  • Lollipop — the next Hollywood breakthrough in NFTs?

  • NFT traders fall to lowest level in a long time

  • Star Atlas releases its mini-game

Market Update: Go Touch Some Grass

The Forkast 500 NFT index barely moved yesterday – it was practically flat, even with some negative news like Moonbirds messing up their Diamond Exhibition. Could this mean we're hitting bottom? Maybe it's time to start collecting NFTs again? Just remember, though, the bottom can last a while.

On the other hand, Solana's buzzing! Tensor, an NFT aggregator marketplace, just surpassed Magic Eden as the #1 marketplace on Solana. It's like a David and Goliath moment, definitely impressive.

Hollywood meets NFTs: David Ayer’s Lollipop Racing

💲 What to know: Lollipop racing is the next-generation storytelling project that incorporates NFTs. It's got some serious Hollywood talent behind it.

David Ayer will write and produce Lollipop. He’s the well-known director for Suicide Squad and wrote the screenplay for the original The Fast and the Furious, the biggest racing movie franchise today.

☘️ In the weeds: The Lollipop series has 10 episodes and races in awesome locations worldwide, with local cultures being a big part of it. The coolest part is that the audience can actually participate in the virtual races, which affect the story!

It's like a mix of streaming, gaming, and sports. The story and races are linked, so teams need to keep up and adapt to win. Ayer's excited to create a thrilling narrative with unexpected challenges in the races

Lollipop will break new ground as a digital, interactive media experience. By using Unreal Engine 5, a dynamic link between audiences and Ayer's story will be established, allowing viewers to directly influence the narrative. It’s going to be on the Polygon blockchain.

You know what's cool? Anyone can get in on Lollipop early by buying actual lollipops on their website for $10 each. They're real candy, not NFTs, and they'll ship them to you. Rumor has it there'll be a QR code on the lollipop for early member perks. Sweet, right? (Pardon the pun)

🤑 Why it matters: Well, entertainment is about to explode with NFTs. Talented folks from big studios are ditching traditional jobs and diving into Web3. Momoguro was one example, which we covered previously.

They're working in stealth now, but keep an eye out for more creative projects led by big names in the coming months.
