Tensor pulled a Rocky Balboa and knocked out Magic Eden

It’s going to be a killer issue today. This week has been a whirlwind of events and we're here to serve you the crème de la crème of hot takes.

Plus we’re cranking things up a notch. Starting next week, we’re switching gears to a Tuesday / Thursday cycle for our emails. Every Tuesday, we’ll be focusing on NFT data and insights. Watch for it!

Today we cover:

  • 🤌 XRP is not a security. The lowdown on why crypto is up and NFTs are still down.

  • 🐸 Google’s Play Store will now support NFTs. What implications does this have?

  • 🏴‍☠️ Tensor is gearing up to reward its users in the next few weeks. Don’t miss out

  • 🍇 If you love art, you’ll love this Art Blocks on Arbitrum project launching next week

Crypto Up, NFTs Down. Why??

Crypto markets are roaring today. This is on the back of the landmark summary judgment that XRP (Ripple) is not a security after years of court battles. This is the best summary on the situation we’ve seen:

What does this mean for NFTs? Why are they still bleeding down? It’s because your favourite altcoins have just been given a lift up — SOL, ADA, MATIC etc. If XRP isn’t a security, it’s unlikely that they would qualify as securities too. Everyone, including your grandma, is selling NFTs to rotate into their favourite altcoins.

We think NFTs will be back in the limelight again. NFT-related tokens like APE may catch some wind with this news. Just a matter of time and patience. DCinvestor says it best:

Google’s Play Store Now Supports NFTs

It seems like the big tech giants of Web 2 are starting to warm up to NFTs. Are we finally winning them over?

Get ready for this - the first Android apps featuring NFTs are set to launch in the latter part of the summer (that's just about two months away!). By the end of the year, it's expected that this new policy will be open to all apps.

💰 Here's why this is a big deal: We're still in the dark about whether Google will slap its standard 30% fee on all in-app purchases, including NFTs.

If NFTs get a pass or even a reduced fee, it could trigger a gold rush of app developers looking to integrate NFTs into their apps. This could be a major win for NFTs.

Of course, we might be getting ahead of ourselves. The tech giants are likely to still want their cut. But regardless, this is fantastic news for Web3 gaming. Mobile gaming is a massive market, and breaking into the platform has always been a major challenge for game developers. This could be the game-changer they've been waiting for.

Tensor Gearing Up To Reward Loyal Users

Tensor is gearing up to drop its own NFT collection in the next few weeks. They're calling it Tensorians, and it's going to be as inseparable from its NFT marketplace. Might it also be linked to a TNSR token launch later this year? 🤔

Tensor pulled a Rocky Balboa and knocked out Magic Eden to become the #1 Solana NFT marketplace now. All thanks to their killer product and a team that just won't stop shipping.

If you're interested in acquiring a Tensorian mint, you'll need to earn reward points on Tensor. These points can be accumulated by listing NFTs, placing bids on NFTs, or making markets on the platform. There's still some time to participate.

We think there's a high probability that Tensor will evolve into a formidable rival to Blur and OpenSea. Don’t underestimate them.
