Market Update: NFT Whale Revealed

Source: NFTstatistics @punk9059

The Whale Wallet has been making waves, splashing out a whopping $11.5 million on NFTs in just the past month. And guess what? It's linked to none other than @PimpCapital.

Over 70% of this spending spree was dedicated to the Bored Ape ecosystem NFTs, like BAYC and MAYCs. Is that the scent of unwavering belief we smell? This is particularly intriguing given the current market trend where Bored Ape NFTs are taking a bit of a nosedive.

@PimpCapital has been dropping hints about a mysterious new project, Flooring Lab. This has been cited as the motivation behind the massive NFT acquisitions. Could this be something related to NFT finance?

Top Story: Gaming Triple Thrill

Three major game developments occured just in the past few days!

#1 Fortnite x Nike Airphoria collab

They’ve built an “immersive, first of its kind Air Max themed experience” made in UEFN (Unreal Editor for Fortnite). This is part of a multi-year partnership between Nike and Fortnite.

Popular livestreamer Brycent took a virtual jog through the game, collecting Air Max grails in a game environment so detailed you can almost smell the rubber. He was so stoked about the integration, he couldn't help but gush, "this is how a real game integration should be done."

Fortnite players can level up their look by purchasing special Air Max-inspired skins for your characters. With Nike's brand power, we can expect to see Nike-designed skins, cosmetics, and special rewards popping up in our favorite games in no time.

#2 Yuga Labs unveiled the trailer for their HV-MTL game

Season 1 will begin on 29 June. Remember Jimmy the Monkey and those Sewer Passes? Well, they've progressed into what looks like a tile-based strategy game that's giving us major Final Fantasy Tactics vibes (shout out to all the old school gamers out there).

You start by building your HV’s home which you can then flex to others. You can also engage in fights with other players. Exact mechanics have not been released yet.

So far the reception has been a mixed bag. Some players are already giving it the thumbs down. But hey, you can't please everyone, right?

#3 Goblintown goes Only Up

"Only Up," is a quirky 3D platformer developed by indie developer SCKR Games. The game's unique charm and challenging gameplay have quickly made it a favorite among Twitch streamers, pulling in over 109,000 viewers at its peak.

But here's the twist: "Only Up" is chock-full of references to the NFT project Goblintown. From the character's clothing to the game's environment, Goblintown's artwork and logos are everywhere. And the best part? Goblintown was released under an open-source license, so anyone can use the artwork, even if they don't own any of the NFTs.

So, here's the million-dollar question: Did SCKR Games collaborate with Goblintown's creator, Truth Labs, to include the artwork in the game?

It's an interesting case of how video games can be utilized to grow awareness of web3 projects. Goblintown NFTs ran up 43% in price over the past week alone, now at 0.3 ETH.
